Also at the Ideas Festival, QGarland invites comment and discussion on the use of public space. On display are digitally enhanced images of public spaces in the cultural precinct at Stanley Place in South Brisbane produced by the designers from Donovan Hill and Wilson Architects. These images pose the questions: What’s uses do they have now? How do we activate our public spaces? As a river city, why doesn’t Brisbane have more activity on the river’s edge? How can we make the street experience itself a destination? The project asks viewers to write their ideas and display them for others to view, read and respond to.
