Semi-detached: Writing, Representation and Criticism in Architecture edited by Dr Naomi Stead will be launched in Brisbane this month. Semi-detached is a book about the role of words and images in architecture. It incorporates contributions from some of Australia’s most highly regarded academics, architects, critics, writers, artists and photographers. Together, they reconsider how architecture has been traditionally represented and critiqued, and the means by which those conventions might be productively challenged. Linda’s contribution draws out themes and writing from her Placing project. It is originally presented at the 2010 Writing Architecture Symposium and is included in this sizeable and impressive book.
Semi-detached will be launched during the Saturday lunch break at ‘Experience’, the 2012 Australian Institute of Architects National Conference. It will be held at the Architext book stall in the foyer and will be open to everyone.
When: 12.40pm, Saturday 12 May
